1. Who operates this site, and your agreement
LearnWordly (learnwordly.com) is operated by Najam Us Saqib ("we", "us"). By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the site. These terms work alongside the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer, which are part of the same agreement.
2. What the site provides
LearnWordly provides free word tools and educational guides about word games, for personal and recreational use. The tools search the ENABLE word list, a public domain list that is not an official dictionary of any game or tournament, and the guides explain word-game ideas and methods. Nothing on this site is an official ruling on the legality of a word in any competition, and nothing here is professional, legal or educational advice in the formal sense. Decisions in organised play belong to the organisers and their official dictionaries.
3. Eligibility
You may use this site if you are old enough to agree to these terms where you live. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the site with the agreement of a parent or guardian. The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the site lawfully and in the way it is offered. In particular, you must not: attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting; use automated means to harvest the site's content at a rate that burdens the service; present the tools' results as official tournament or dictionary rulings; or use the site in a way that infringes anyone else's rights. Ordinary use of the tools in your own games, including club and casual play, is exactly what they are for.
5. Intellectual property
The site's own text, design and code are the property of the operator and may not be reproduced wholesale without permission; brief quotation with a link back is welcome. The data the tools run on belongs to its sources: the ENABLE word list is in the public domain; the word meanings are drawn from Princeton WordNet, a project of Princeton University, and are credited wherever the method is described; the frequency data is the published research data of Peter Norvig. Names of games and products mentioned on this site (including Wordle and Scrabble) are trademarks of their respective owners, are used here only to describe the games the tools help with, and imply no affiliation or endorsement; the fuller statement is in the Disclaimer.
6. No warranty
The site and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Real effort goes into accuracy: every number in the guides is computed from the shipped word list, and the checking method is published on How We Verify. Effort is not a guarantee. Results may contain errors, the word list has known gaps (it contains no QI, no ZA and no proper names), and the service may be interrupted or changed. Do not rely on this site as the sole authority for any decision that matters, including competition rulings and published work.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or its tools, including losses arising from reliance on a word, meaning, score or statistic shown here. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.
9. Third-party links and advertising
The site links to other websites, including the sources named in the guides, and advertising served by Google may appear on its pages. Those websites and advertisements are not under our control, and we are not responsible for their content or their practices; the Privacy Policy describes how advertising data is handled. A link is a reference, not an endorsement.
10. Changes to the site and to these terms
The site, its tools and its content may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time without notice. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published on this page, with its effective date, is the version that applies, and continued use of the site after an update means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable where you reside, to the extent required by law.
12. Severability and the whole agreement
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues in full effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer, are the whole agreement between you and the operator about your use of this site.
